LA Art Show 2024 Explores the Intersection of Memory, Humanity, and AI

LA Art Show, one of the most extensive international contemporary art events in the US, will be retaking the majestic halls of the Los Angeles Convention Center in 2024 for its 29th edition. Kicking off this year's art season in LA, the fair brings together more than 100 galleries, museums, and art organizations, solidifying its position as a platform that celebrates art and its capacity to impact thought and transform society. Alongside presentations by galleries based in the US, LA Art Show 2024 features international exhibitors from across the globe, including the Philippines, Italy, Israel, Peru, and South Korea.

The comprehensive exhibitor list is complemented by a wide range of additional programs, including curated sections, institutional presences, and community initiatives, promising a multilayered event that ignites dialogue, fosters talent, and builds community bonds. Extending those efforts far beyond the artistic framework, LA Art Show announced the American Heart Association, celebrating its centennial this year, as their new charity partner. The fair joins their campaign Life is Why ™ by donating 15% of profits from every ticket to the health institution. Harnessing LA's potential as a thriving, multicultural nexus, LA Art Show emerges as a unique experience for a growing collecting audience, as underlined by producer and director Kassandra Voyagis:

With over 100 galleries, museums, and nonprofits exhibiting this year, we continue our commitment to creating the most comprehensive contemporary art experience possible. This year's show will celebrate art—globally and locally—and inspire important dialogue.

Special Programs

LA Art Show can boast itself as a comprehensive art fair by achieving a well-calculated balance between a wide range of programs, curated sections, and accompanying events. Returning to curate the non-commercial program, Marisa Caichiolo is once more in charge of the DIVERSEartLA section. Partnering with several international institutions to foster dialogue, the fair invited them to explore the intersection of memory, humanity, and AI. Among the seven selected participants are the Lancaster Museum of Art, presenting a multi-media exhibition titled Osceola Refetoff: Repairing the Future; the Nevada Museum of Art with a display of works by Guillermo Bert; the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bogotá, showcasing the work of the multimedia artist Carlos Castro Arias; and the Chile-based AAL Museum, introducing an immersive installation led by the contemporary artist Antuan, to name just a few museums contributing the discourse.
